Definition
Ligne rentrante formée par la rencontre de deux versants de toiture, qui recueille et évacue l'eau de pluie. C'est un point sensible : une mauvaise étanchéité s'y traduit vite par une fuite.
The inward-sloping line formed where two roof slopes meet, which collects and drains rainwater. It is a sensitive point: poor waterproofing quickly shows as a leak.

Nuances and pitfalls
Noue (n. f.) paysagère. In landscaping, a noue is also a wide, shallow ditch that collects rainwater in the ground: same word, other sense.
