Nuances and pitfalls
Trémie (n. f.) or réservation? A trémie is a large opening (stair, elevator); a réservation (n. f.) is a small void left for a duct or a pipe to pass.
The chevêtres. The beams framing the trémie are the chevêtres; in English, approximately trimmer beams or headers. They carry the load of the interrupted slab to the supports.
One word, other senses. Outside floors, a trémie is a large funnel-shaped chute through which a material is poured: the one of a grain silo, or the funnel on top of a pipe used to place concrete under water.
