Nuances and pitfalls

No exact equivalent. In the US, bidding documents or bid documents refers to the tender package; in the UK, tender documents. To be confirmed by the US and UK reviewers.

Possible false friend. American construction documents (“CDs”) are the drawing and specification set produced at the end of design: they resemble the technical part of the DCE, but do not include the tender rules or the price documents, and are not a package sent to contractors. To be confirmed by the US reviewer.

Not to be confused with the DOE (dossier des ouvrages exécutés), handed over at the end of construction: as-built or record documents.
